VolunTour
Israel Summer Program 2008
The
program is open to Jewish teenagers entering Grades 10,
11 and 12 (North America) and Years 11, 12 and 13 (United
Kingdom) in September 2008.
The
focus of this program is chesed – activities that
will benefit all sectors of Israeli society and Israelis
in need of your help and support.
The
program is co-ed and will operate in a modern orthodox halachic
framework.
DATES:
The program will commence in Israel on Wednesday July 16th,
2008.
The program will conclude in Israel on Monday August 11th,
2008.
FLIGHTS:
Participants joining the program from North America:
- Flight leaves New York (JFK) on Tuesday July 15th, 2008
- Return flight leaves Tel Aviv (Ben Gurion) on Tuesday
August 12th 2008 arriving at JFK at 5:50am on Tuesday morning

joining the program from outside of North America:

PROGRAM
CONTENT:
The following aspects will form the basis of the "VolunTour
Israel" Program:
*
Running Day Camps for new immigrants at Absorption Centers
* Multi-day overnight trip with teenage victims of terror
from the One Family Fund
* Training as a Medical Clown and entertaining in hospitals
* Renovating bomb shelters and painting school walls
* Helping Israeli families affected by trauma
* Program for Jewish and Arab children to study together
* Activities and support for ill and disabled children
* Food collection and distribution for Israel's hungry
The
program will also include important holy and educational
sites, outdoor adventures and an inspirational Tisha B'Av
period in Jerusalem.
TUITION:
$4550* (inclusive of $250US non-refundable application fee).
This
price includes a round trip ticket NY-Tel Aviv. Participants
will be responsible for additional costs of flights from
other parts of North America to and from NY and for any
extra flight costs as a result of not joining the group
flights or as a result of flight adjustments by the participant.
Plane fares are subject to increases in air travel taxes
until date of issuing of tickets. Participants will pay
the additional amount should such eventuate.
*Participants who will already be in Israel at the start
of the program will not be required to pay for the airfare
portion of the tuition
*Participants
from outside of North America may be eligible for a discount
subject to flight costs.
APPLICATIONS:
Following receipt of your application, you may be requested
to participate in an interview with a VolunTour Israel representative.
